Unselfish Love Unending

Who can know the mind of God

It's so unlike my own

Holy, pure and righteous

Is the mind of God alone

And all the universe proclaims

His sovereign majesty

And in the beauty of salvation

I can see His love for me

But who can understand such love

It's such a mystery

Why God would give his only Son

To die on Calvary

The answer lies upon the cross

It's written in His blood

The Lamb of God was crucified

To prove that God is  love

God is love, and love is never ending

God is love, and love is always true

God is love, and love is comprehending

To put others first in all we say and do

Unselfish love unending

Unlike anything I've known

Filled with mercy and forgiveness

Freely given from His throne

For the sake of all the hopeless

Who without Him, would be lost

He bore the sins of all the world

And nailed them to the cross

But why, you say, would Jesus come

To suffer on that tree

Why would He be so willing

To endure such pain for me

The answer lies upon the cross

It's written in His blood

The Saviour died so we could live

Forever in His love

God is love, and love is never ending

God is love, and love is always true

God is love, and love is comprehending

To put others first in all we say and do
