The Bible Tells Me So

He is worthy and most able

To sit upon the throne
And to wear the crown of glory

That is His and His alone

That the Father can bestow

There are laws that rule the universe

Immutable and true
That were written by my Saviour

To govern me and you
But ever since the fall of man

God’s laws have been denied
That is why God sent His only Son

To suffer and to die

It is written that the law of God

Will convict us of our sin
For sin is born in lawlessness

Time and time again
But God is faithful to forgive

To pardon and restore
If we confess our sins to Him

Then go and sin no more

Ever since the day that we were born

We’ve been dying more each day
For the law of God demands the death

Of those who disobey
But God has made atonement for our sin

Through the pure and spotless Lamb
Through the sacrifice and blood of Christ

We are reconciled to Him

He is worthy and most able

To sit upon the throne

And to wear the crown of glory

That is His and His alone

He is worthy of all power

Now I’ve heard it said so many times

That the law has been fulfilled
And nailed to that dreadful tree

And left to die upon that hill
But on the day that Christ was crucified

This mystery was revealed
That the cross of shame, that Jesus bore

The crown of thorns that Jesus wore
The nails and stripes, that pierced His skin

Inflicted by the curse of sin
Is all the proof I’ll ever need

That the law of God could never be
Changed or nailed to the cross
