To God be the glory

This Old House

This old house that Jesus built for me is not my final home

It's getting harder to maintain, now that I'm alone

These four walls that once stood straight and tall are closing in on me

But I know that when my Saviour comes, He will set me free

This old house that He build long ago is starting to fall down

And I don't know how much longer LORD, that I will be around

But if I'm still here before You come to renovate my home

I pray You'll send Your Spirit LORD, so I won't be alone

This old house has been my shelter through the good times and the bad

And I'm thankful for my Saviour and the blessings that I've had

I'm longing for the day when God will send the latter rain

To purify my body and to clean my window pane

This old house has been a friend to me for seventy one years

And now that I am older I'm in need of some repairs

And when Jesus Christ my Carpenter and Saviour comes again

To build me a new house and restore my life again

This old house that I am living in will soon be made anew

What God has done for me my friend, He will do for you

When you put your trust in Jesus and call upon His name

He will renovate your house, and restore your life again

This old house has been my shelter through the good times and the bad

And I'm thankful for my Saviour and the blessings that I've had

I'm longing for the day when God will send the latter rain

To purify my body and to clean my window pane

This old house that Jesus built for me was made from dust and clay

And it will turn to dust again, when I pass away

But I believe that Jesus Christ has overcome the grave

And He will do the same for me on resurrection day

He will do the same for me on resurrection day
