To God be the glory

On Eagle's Wings

The eagle has fallen into the sea

Taking the one I love, away from me

Because of his broken wings, my life has been changed

And I know that I will never be the same

The eagle has fallen, fallen from grace

Leaving a scar so deep, that only God can erase

The pain and the broken hearts, of those who ask why

Why was this wounded bird, unable to fly

On eagle's wings, the saints will rise to glory

On eagle's wings, with the angels we will sing

On eagle's wings, we will run and not be weary

We shall see the grace of God on eagle's wings

The eagle has fallen, flight 491

That carried our daughter, and carried our sons

And O what a tragedy that only one soul survived

And I thank the LORD each day that he is alive

O where shall I go LORD, to hide from Thee

If I ascend into heaven, or if I dwell in the sea

Even there Thou shall keep me in Thy holy sight

And though the darkness cover me, the night shall be light

On eagle's wings, the saints will rise to glory

On eagle's wing's, with the angels we will sing

On eagle's wings, we will run and not be weary

We shall see the grace of God on eagle's wings

We shall see the grace of God on eagle's wings

O where shall I go LORD, to hide from Thee

To God be the glory

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. ~ Isaiah 40:31 ~

This song was written during the investigation into the crash of Cougar flight 491, that fell on March 12, 2009, killing all but one crew member. It is dedicated to the families and friends of those lost at sea on that tragic day. Gone but not forgotten. Click on the red button to watch the youtube video.
