The Love Of Jesus

Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so

Now I know where I belong I am weak but He is strong

Yes Jesus loves me yes Jesus loves me

Yes Jesus loves me the Bible tells me so

I want to tell you all about the love of Jesus

And the sacrifice He made for you and me

And when I tell you all about the love of Jesus

You will understand the cross on Calvary

I was born into this world of woe in 1951

And I grew up in a small town I recall

The day my heart was broken

By the wrongs that I had done

And I did not see the writing on the wall

I thought that I was on the road to glory

Seeking things that brought me pleasure

Wealth and fame

And I did not want to hear the old old story

That would one day set me free from all my pain

I lived my life in vain for my ambitions

Neglecting those that God had given me

And I grew to love the world and its traditions

And I was full of pride and just too blind to see

That I was on the road that led to self destruction

Addicted to the lies that Satan told

And for over twenty years

Through the heartache and the tears

I thought that I would lose my very soul

I want to tell you all about the love of Jesus

And the sacrifice He made for you and me

And when I tell you all about the love of Jesus

You will understand the cross on Calvary

Then one day I thought my life was over

For I could not bear the pain I felt inside

And I knew I was to blame

For all my guilt and shame

And I knew that Satan wanted me destroyed

The emptiness I felt was overwhelming

And I wanted desperately to make amends

And little did I know that Jesus loves me so

And I did not know that He would be my friend

With a heavy heart I thought about my family

And with trembling hands I got down on my knees

And I asked the LORD in heaven

If I could be forgiven

And this is what my Savior said to me

I still bear the scars of shame

For your transgressions son

And for those like you I came to Calvary

Where I suffered and I died

When I was crucified

To pay the price for your iniquity

I want to tell you all about the love of Jesus

And the sacrifice He made for you and me

And when I tell you all about the love of Jesus

You will understand the cross on Calvary

It's been over thirty years

Since Yahovah heard my prayers

And led me to the cross on Calvary

Where my Savior shed His blood

To show that God is love

He took my sins

And nailed them to that tree

I want to tell you all about the love of Jesus

And the sacrifice He made for you and me

And when I tell you all about the love of Jesus

You will understand the cross on Calvary

When I tell you all about the love of Jesus
