To God be the glory

He's Only Sleeping

Now I lay me down to sleep

I pray the LORD my soul to keep

If I should die before I wake

I pray the LORD my soul to take

He's only sleeping, so don't you cry

You can see he's not awake

He is sleeping in his Father's care

That is his for heaven's sake

But soon he will awaken

When Jesus comes again

Like Lazarus in Bethany

When Jesus called his name

Come forth my beloved one

Come forth

She's  only sleeping, so don't you cry

And don't you be dismayed

For nothing else can harm her

When she's sleeping in her grave

She is sleeping in God's keeping

Until resurrection day

When Jesus comes to wake her up

She will hear her Savior say

Come forth my beloved one

Come forth

When the trumpet sounds

The dead in Christ

Will know that He is here

With a mighty shout

The Savior and His angels will appear

Then those who are alive in Christ

When the graves are opened wide

Will rise to meet Him in the air

When He comes to take His bride

Come forth my beloved one

Come forth

When Jesus Christ returns again

On resurrection day

We who are alive in Him

Will rise up and we'll say

O grave where is your victory

O death where is your sting

For you have been defeated

By our Savior and our King

Come forth my beloved one

Come forth

If I'm sleeping before Jesus comes

Don't you be dismayed

For nothing else can harm me

When I'm dead and in my grave

I'll be sleeping in God's keeping

Until resurrection day

When Jesus comes to wake me up

I will hear my Savior say

Come forth my beloved one

Come forth

When the trumpet sounds

The dead in Christ

Will know that He is here

With a mighty shout

The Savior and His angels will appear

Then those who are alive in Christ

When the graves are opened wide

Will rise to meet Him in the air

When He comes to take His bride

Come forth my beloved one

Come forth

Come forth my beloved one

Come forth

Now I lay me down to sleep

I pray the LORD my soul to keep

If I should die before I wake

I pray the LORD my soul to take
